--=====================_4956106==_.ALT-- From cuddy@library.med.nyu.edu Tue Sep 10 21:47:49 2002 From: cuddy@library.med.nyu.edu (Colleen Cuddy) Date: Tue, 10 Sep 2002 16:47:49 -0400 Subject: [SigLAN-L] Call for officers Message-ID: <5.1.0.14.0.20020910164629.03288d28@library.med.nyu.edu> We have several vacant or soon-to-be vacant positions for officers of SIG-LAN (soon to be SIG-LT we hope!). We are accepting nominations at this time for chair-elect, secretary, list-serv moderator and web manager. The position of chair-elect and secretary are currently vacant. Meg Rheingold has been our web manager for the past two years and Janet Arth has taken on the role of listserv moderator for several years. We appreciate their hard work! A few people have contacted me already and volunteered but I would like to officially open up the floor for nominations. So if you know a SIG-LAN member who is willing to help lead us or you would like to nominate yourself now is the time. This is a great opportunity that I hope many of you will consider. I expect that there will be more informal opportunities to get involved via sub-committees as well, so if you are interested in serving on the social committee, nominating committee, or student travel grant committee please let me know as well. Please bear in mind that you must be a current SIG-LAN member to serve as an officer and for the position of secretary and chair-elect you must be able to attend the annual meetings. I'd be happy to supply more information about the requirements of each position or put you in touch with members who hold or have held the position in the past. Please feel free to contact me by phone or email if you have any questions. I hope to see many of you in Phillie in November. Stay tuned for details on the time and date of our planning meeting and the annual dutch-treat dinner. If you are presenting a poster or have anything else going on that is noteworthy please let me know so we can make sure your colleagues and fellow SIG-LANers know about it!
